Buildex® self-drilling Treated Timber screws are specially designed for quick and easy installation with maximum holding power.

Available in either a Zincalloy 3® or special Climacoat 3® coating which meets AS3566 Class 3, to resist the corrosive effects of treated timbers.

Selection Guide

Countersunk Rib Head (Needle Point)

For general fixing to Treated Timber, e.g., trellis, outdoor furniture, fencing, lattice, etc.

Bugle Batten (Type 17)

For heavy duty fixing to Treated Timber, e.g., fencing, pergolas, boardwalks, gates, sheds, etc.

Self-Embedding Head (AW Point)

For fixing compressed cement sheet flooring to timber

Self-Embedding Head (Type 17)

For fixing particleboard flooring to treated timber joists

Countersunk Rib Head (Wing Tek)

For fixing treated timber to steel up to 4.5mm thick, e.g., floors, fencing, etc.

   

How to use

Buildex® Treated Timber Screws
  1. Measure the total thickness of the materials to be fastened.
  2. Choose a screw long enough to provide approximately 20mm of thread embedment into the timber being fastened to.
  3. a) For Countersunk Rib Head and Self-Embedding Head screws fit a #2 Phillips drive bit to a power screwdriver set to a low speed, approximately 1000rpm.
    b) For Bugle Batten screws fit a 5mm Hexagon drive bit to a power screwdriver set to a low speed, approximately 1000rpm
  4. Put screw onto a screw drive bit and place at fastening position.
  5. Push sharply on screwdriver to create a starting point.
  6. Drive screw home until head is flush with the surface.
