Buildex® self-drilling Plasterboard screws feature a bugle shaped head which countersinks neatly into plasterboard without crushing the core, or tearing the face paper. Available in a zinc-plated finish.

Selection Guide

Bugle Head (Needle Point)

For general fixing to timber and thin steel up to 0.6mm thick, e.g., walls and ceilings, partitions, etc.

For fixing plasterboard to steel from 0.8mm to 2.5mm thickness

    

How to use

FIXING TO STEEL

  1. Measure the total thickness of the material to be fastened.
  2. Choose a screw long enough to allow at least three threads to protrude beyond the steel being fastened to.
  3. Drive with a #2 Phillips bit fitted to a power screwdriver set to a high speed - approximately 2500rpm. Do not overdrive.
FIXING TO TIMBER
  1. Measure the total thickness of the materials to be fastened.
  2. Choose a screw long enough to provide at least 20mm of thread embedment into the timber being fastened to.
  3. Drive with a #2 Phillips bit fitted to a power screwdriver set to a high speed - approximately 2500rpm. Do not overdrive.
